Faith Promise

What is Faith Promise?

Faith-Promise Giving is a method of giving whereby an individual makes a commitment to God to give money above and beyond regular giving to the church and its ministries. Metropolitan uses faith-promise giving to support its faith-promise missionaries. (These are missionaries who submitted an application and were "adopted" by the missions committee, based on various criteria.)

How does it work?

1. Pray about it! During the missions festival (which always begins the last Sunday of September) church members are asked to pray about monthly giving to missions.
2. Once you have decided how much God would have you give, fill out the "Missions Faith Promise" card (located in the pew racks and throughout the church during the festival).
3. The missions committee uses the Faith Promise cards to record the expected budget for the coming year so that they know how many missionaries can be supported (or new ones to begin supporting).
4. Each month, place your cash or check in the offering plate, designating (on the memo line or with a sticky note) that it is for "faith-promise missions".
